I'm currently finishing up my third year at the University of Nevada, Reno with a major in Anthropology and a minor in English. As an avid reader, I have many interests which span from ayurvedic medicine to neuropsychology. I love to create art, play music, make instruments, draw comics, and volunteer (currently with Food Not Bombs, Reno). I work at a nonprofit organization, WARC, which provides services and support for adults with physical and mental disabilites which has shaped my life dramatically. I look forward to meeting all of you!

I am studying at the University of Cambridge as an undergraduate, reading Archaeology and Anthropology. I feel that participating in this summer school would be an excellent way to help me broaden my Anthropological horizons. I see this as a perfect opportunity to deepen and expand my interest and understanding of the subject, as well as meeting new people with similar interests and different perspectives.

I am an undergraduate at Missouri State University studying Anthropology, Middle Eastern Studies, and French. I love animals and have been a vegetarian for eight years. When I’m not doing school things I’m working at a local natural foods store, or riding my bike around town. I’m not originally from Missouri, I moved about the country a lot while growing up and it gave me a taste for travel. I hope to visit 80 countries by the time I’m 30.

I am currently in my final year of a Masters course at the National University of Ireland at Maynooth. My interests include Gaelic cosmology, post-structural methodology and the anthropology of literature. Learning to scuba dive in Malta will be my gift to myself for surviving graduate study. I like to think I have a sense of humour, who knows? I have Claude Levy-Strauss’ autograph ...really! Ask me about it when we meet!

I am an undergraduate Anthropology student at SUNY Potsdam who is interested in cultural anthropology. This coming semester (Spring 2007) I have decided to take a break and spend some time in my home state of New Jersey. The 2005-06 school year found me doing study abroad in Swansea, Wales, which allowed me to travel a bit. I really enjoy photography and music and try to include both into my studies.

As a junior Anthropology major at Millersville University, in Pennsylvania, USA, I would love to travel somewhere outside of this country. Unfortunately, I have not yet had the opportunity to do much of that. Some day, when I have finally completed my education, I hope to study folklore, religion, music, and pop culture. For fun, I like to relax with a classic movie, some singing, a good book, or an exciting round of people watching at the amusement park close to home.

Currently majoring in Liberal Arts at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pennsylvania, United States. I enjoy travelling and have done so several times as a high school student, but i am eager to travel for the purpose of gaining experience in Anthropology, a field that i would like to pursue. Some of my interests include history, politics, reading, singing, acting, and meeting new people.

The life as a snowboard instructor for several years, a lot of travelling, and collecting life and work experience in different summer jobs. That’s what I seemingly needed before I found my way to university. One year in Media and Communication Science (2003/04) were followed by the studies in Social / Cultural Anthropology (since 2004, both at University of Zurich), which I still follow to make my Bachelor or Masters of Arts.

I am originally from Rome, Italy, but I have been living abroad since 1998, mainly in England, where I have completed my studies and I am currently working. My two passions are history and languages and I have therefore orientated my studies on an international level in the field of cultural heritage and the promotion of cultural expressions, both tangible and intangible. I have also studied several foreign languages (Norwegian, Modern Greek, Spanish and English of course), as I believe that languages are the poetry of life!

I am a senior at the University of Colorado at Boulder studying anthropology and French. My main focus has been on physical anthropology, but I have done some research in France relating to cultural anthropology. I plan to move to Boston in the fall to go to grad school, hopefully doing a program in applied anthropology. In Boulder, I work at a coffeeshop (the best place to people-watch), and I enjoy photography and being outside.

Research papers of 2006 can be found in Omertaa, Journal for applied Anthropology..
