RESEARCH SUPPORT

One of the objectives of Expeditions is to promote high quality socio-cultural science research at an international level, and to play an institutional role in strengthening the research infrastructure and network.

Expeditions offers its knowhow and guidance to scientific research at universities and independent research institutes on any scale and at any level. Development of appropriate research policies, actively applied; encouragement and structural support for cross-disciplinary collaborative initiatives, activities, and programs... are only a few examples.

Next to this we think it is very important for individuals to feel that they have a network to which they belong and that they feel part of a vibrant, engaged community in which their contributions are recognized and valued.

One of our main partners is IMMRC (Interculturalism, Migration, Minorities Research Centre) at the (University of Leuven (KUL)). The main objective of the IMMRC research network is to encourage research in the field of migration, ethnicity and multiculturalism.

Expeditions also supports the work of young researchers in the field of cultural sciences with any means. We try to give them a platform and a network that ables them to perform under the best possible conditions.

At this very moment we are developing a brand new system that will be connected to an up-to-date database of worldwide anthropologists and their projects. It will be an online tool available for all. It's purpose is to bring together individual researchers, students and organisations active in the field of anthropology. You'll soon find more about the project on www.anthropologynet.org.
